The Summer Art Academy offers 10 days of diverse and varied art workshops held by artists from all disciplines and different cultures. The philosophy is not to manifest normative value/art concepts, but rather to provide space for emotions and impulses for creative processes. It is less important to hold a “beautiful” work in your hands at the end than to have a lasting experience through body and mind.

Despite pandemic-related restrictions, 40 children and young people and 10 adults took part in 17 artist workshops in 2020. Projects in the fields of painting, sculpture, sound, photography, video, design, textiles, writing and much more will be implemented again in 2021. _DieARTE School for Artistic Professions has set itself the task of enabling children, young people and adults to work artistically and develop creatively in a free and independent setting. The summer art academy on the grounds of the VSL is also an opportunity for children and their families from the surrounding area to get to know the art space and its activities from the inside. The resulting works are presented to the public at the end. Furthermore, the Summer Art Academy supports artists in making their artistic work visible.
