“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”
is the first sentence of the first article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We present the topic for discussion from different perspectives.
In a room closed off by barred doors, the artists sit down to work. Notched sticks are carved, texts are written, readings, drawings and photos are taken. Ivory tower or prison? Protection, self-interest, imprisonment?
The visitors question the oracle, but they will only get an answer through a confidant, a friend, or they will remain in the dark.
Find a stick with the notches of your offenses. You have the chance to erase the guilt, to turn it into smoke and ashes – or you can take the artwork home with you as a memento.
The best way to enjoy art is to experience it in person, to be there and talk about it. The artists continue to work, shaping the world according to their ideas and thoughts. Who will hear them, who will see them, who will remember them?
