Literaturspaziergang ’21

30. May 2021 , 15:00 - 17:00

Art and Literature Network – from the Symposion St. Margarethen to the Symposion Lindabrunn

“Go, go, I say to my most beautiful dress, don’t dawdle, don’t dawdle, don’t cheat, after all we want to experience something.” (from “Whispering sands” by Patricia Brooks)

The starting point for the walk is the Hernsteiner Straße parking lot shortly after the end of Lindabrunn at the upper, southern end of the Symposion grounds.

A performative event that draws on the synergy between art and literature recalls the network of sculptors’ symposia between Lower Austria and Burgenland from the 1960s onwards. Five authors from the Graz Authors’ Assembly – Patricia Brooks, Christl Greller, Jopa Jotakin, Dine Petrik and Beatrice Simonsen – will perform selected stone sculptures with associative texts during an enjoyable walk.

Furthermore, the visual artist Christine Schörkhuber invites you to “Approaches – an intervention in the meadow”: the interview-based work deals with the stories of people – including the sculptor Ulrike Truger – who have a passionate connection to the grounds of Symposion Lindabrunn.

Duration of the tour approx. 1.5 – 2 hours. Admission free! Bring a picnic (+ blanket) and FFP2 mask!

Annäherungen – an intervention in the meadow

Christine Schörkhuber

site-specific installation, oral history, 2020 This interview-based work explores the stories of people who have a passionate connection to the grounds of the Lindabrunn Symposium. Their positions become the starting point for an outdoor installation that takes a subtle and personal approach to this multi-layered place with its different perspectives and levels of meaning.
