“I think in stone.” This self-description characterizes the sculptor, who repeatedly explicitly locates her work in the political discourse. “The Guardian”, the “Omofuma Stone”, or finally the monumental work entitled “How Dare You” – an exclamation mark made of white Carrara marble make this unmistakably clear.
In 1989, Truger was the only woman to lead a stone sculptor symposium in Lindabrunn, the results of which as “Die Spur” (The Trace) still represent one of the main axes of the sculpture park to this day.
In 2015 the illustrated book was published: “Ulrike Truger – Monumental weiblich” (Monumental Feminine).
