Valentina Gruber (b. 1998), born in Tyrol, is currently pursuing a master’s degree in architecture at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), where she is employed in the Urban Planning and Design Research Group. With a focus on communication and media design, she has also worked in the fields of exhibition design, graphic design, and film, and further developed her photographic practice at the Friedl Kubelka School during the 2025–26 academic year.
Her focus in photography is driven by an interest in documenting the inconspicuous, even the invisible. Things that usually escape our notice in everyday life unless we walk through rooms, squares, and landscapes with our eyes wide open. Always navigating the tension between natural phenomena and architecture, she takes a step forward—not backward—and seeks to draw our attention to different perspectives on our environment through close-up shots.
