Marie Vermont moves between different fields of music and fine arts and is based in Vienna, Austria. She studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Her visual work reflects visible and invisible research material on commons, necrocene, climate crisis, indeterminacy, tension, simultaneity, non-places and many others. Her series „Allmende“ contains more than 250 watercolor drawings in different formats, most of them originated from small expeditions outside. In her sounds she combines electronic unprogrammable analog devices with tape, electro acoustics, cables and graphic scores in the context of improvisation. She performs and records solo as well as in different formations: IEOGM (w/ the concept horse), Micro Mata (w/ RSMA), BILLA ENSEMBLE (w/ Michiu, Turmeric Acid, the concept horse) and others. She co-organizes the concert series „knopfwissen“ in Vienna and has been founding- and active member of SOYBOT micropublishing collective from 2010-2020.
