Maria Morschitzky, born in Linz in 1983, lives and works as a visual artist in Vienna. She studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg in the class for drawing, printmaking and new media. Morschitzky works in the fields of drawing, moving image, scenography, performance and sculpture, experimenting with new techniques and formats. She was awarded the Salzburg State Prize for Media Art in 2015. Participation in symposia such as Ortung Stuhlfelden and the Composers’ Forum Mittersill, as well as funded studio residencies in Künstlerhaus Salzburg, Budapest, Sardinia and Paliano, among others.
