From the lingering

Perception is an active, formative process. It selects, condenses and creates reality. A site-sensitive artistic practice unfolds from everyday life together – in observing, listening and visualizing – that responds to the situation rather than depicting it. This attitude characterizes the week-long collaboration between two artists in residence and is based on presence, repetition and lingering.

Macro shots open our eyes to the imperceptible – to transitions and subtle shifts in light, sound and materiality. Situationally used materials act as mediating filters that structure traces of light and shadow as well as tonal particles.

The resulting installation follows a relational understanding of sensory orientation: as an ongoing process of active awareness, in which heterogeneous environments, experience and artistic setting resonate and respond to one another.
