This installation demonstrates the possibilities of sustainable darkroom practices in analog photography using plant-based developers instead of conventional photographic chemicals. The starting point is the ability of plants to reduce silver salts to metallic silver through the phenols and polyphenols they contain. The environment and surroundings become accomplices and co-producers in the photographic process. The artist hands over control to plants, weather, light, temperature, and, last but not least, to chance, which can produce unpredictable chemical reactions. The image and the depicted grow together.
