Born 1972 in Linz (A), studied architecture at the TU Vienna (A), 2000 project manager at Atelier van Lieshout (NL). Since 2000 teaching at the TU Vienna, foundation and management of the design.build studio of the TU Vienna, since 2005 office partnership with Veronika Orso (fattinger-orso.com. 2011 PHD “Design-Build-Studio. framework, processes and potentials of design-build-projects in architectural education”.
Prizes and awards: 2017, City of Vienna Prize for Architecture 2017 in recognition of his life’s work to date (together with Veronika Orso). 2011, nomination for the Mies van der Rohe Prize – European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture 2011, nomination for the project “Bellevue, das gelbe Haus” together with Veronika Orso and Michael Rieper. 2010, International Architecture Award – Contract World Award 3rd place, category “Hotel / Spa / Gastronomy” for the project “Bellevue, das gelbe Haus” together with Veronika Orso and Michael Rieper, 2006, Austrian Building Award 2006 special prize for the designbuild project “Kindergarten Orange Farm Township”.
