blablabor works in the fields of radio play/soundscape, performance and installative radio art. the subject of blablabor’s work is always exactly what it does. writing, speaking, singing, narrating, broadcasting, listening. blablabor is particularly interested in the noise of the radio, as well as the beauty and fragility of linear radio. in its legendary radio performances, blablabor uses up to 100 radio sets.
blablabor are annette schmucki and reto friedmann. they have been working together for over 25 years.
2023/24 guest professorship at the university of music and performing arts, hfmdk, in frankfurt/m.

annette schmucki
*1968, works with language as music. words are her musical material. she moves against the feasibility and availability of language in the direction of centrifuge and linguistics. studied composition with cornelius schwehr and mathias spahlinger. member of the collective blablabor and the akademie der künste berlin.

reto friedmann
*1965, radio artist and performer, master of arts in religious studies, theology of spirituality, former founder and managing director of the association radio school klipp & klang radiokurse as well as member of the foundation board and secretary of the foundation alternative local radio zurich alr. member of the collective blablabor and the duo augst und friedmann.
