SUMMARY:The BABEL Experiment – Maurizio Nardo and Peter Brandlmayr
DESCRIPTION:During their residency\, Maurizio Nardo and Peter Brandlmayr will explore a fundamentally existent\, measuring and relative concept of language in theory and practice. The setting seems suitable to them\, as at the symposium humans coexist physically and mentally with animate and inanimate nature. The artists’ focus is on the threshold zones between the participants\, i.e. on impression and impression. \n\n\n\nBased on their experiences\, they would like to develop an experimental arrangement or an instrumental setting with which the relative discretion of fundamentally existing communication can become apparent\, in the form of an experiment including a theoretical introduction.

SUMMARY:The pillars and me - art education for school classes
DESCRIPTION:June 11th and 25th \n\n\n\nThe work The Pillars was created in 1978 by Tomou Kobori\, Mathias Hietz\, Franz Katzgraber and Jun Ohara. Nine simple\, cylindrical stone forms of varying heights stand to the right of the gravel road leading to the central communication center. The work requires participation on the part of the viewer\, as it consists of two elements: the supporting columns and an (invisible) weight-bearing form. Kobori\, who had the idea for this work\, imagined a castle in the air. To get to the bottom of this castle in the air\, you have to choose the right viewpoint. Only from this point of view are the pillars of the same height and together they can support the castle in the air. \n\n\n\nIn cooperation with local primary school classes\, workshops will be held for children in June\, where they can get to know the Lindabrunn Symposium and its sculptures through an active\, participatory artistic experience and create their own works.

SUMMARY:monocon – Barcamp
DESCRIPTION:monocon is an unconference with open workshops\, lectures and presentations that has been taking place since 2018. Its content and schedule are developed by the participants themselves at the beginning of the conference and shaped as it progresses. \nmonocon is organized by monochrom\, an internationally active art-technology-philosophy collective. Founded in 1993\, monochrom works with a wide variety of media and art formats and publishes the book and magazine series monochrom. \nThe art collective monochrom refers to their work method as “context hacking”\, referring to the hacker culture that propagates a creative and emancipatory approach to the technologies of the digital age and thus opposes the extension of a centuries-old culture of technological domination and expert hierarchies into the digital age. With its electronic mass media\, the democratization or socialization of the means of production seems feasible for the first time (without requiring anything other than a technological revolution). \nContext hacking transfers the claims and approaches of hackers to the social and societal conditions in which artistic production takes place and on which it is in turn dependent. In a metaphorical sense\, these also have a source code. They run programs that we are confronted with on a user interface. Where we know how and through what a space\, a niche\, a scene\, a subculture\, a media or political practice functions\, we can change and “recode” it\, deconstruct its power relations and emancipate ourselves from its constraints and modes of allocation.
