SUMMARY:monocon #2
DESCRIPTION:Four days of discussions\, workshops\, entertainment and artistic program with / by / for monochrom and its friends. Is there a better way to spend time in the countryside? Definitely not! \nmonochrom is an internationally active art-technology-philosophy collective. Founded in 1993\, monochrom is based in Graz and Vienna. The group works with a wide variety of media and art formats. At the beginning of December 2005\, monochrom took over the Lord Jim Loge\, an artists’ association founded by Jörg Schlick\, Martin Kippenberger and Wolfgang Bauer. \nThe group is known for working with different media and formats. Many projects have a performative character and favor critical and discursive narratives. Johannes Grenzfurthner calls it “the search for the best medium for the message”. monochrom sees itself as belonging to the political left. It strives to strengthen public discourse in civil society\, sometimes using subversive affirmation or over-affirmation as a tactic. The group advocates the concept of context hacking. \nhttp://www.monochrom.at/monocon/

SUMMARY:Sommer Kunstworkshop
DESCRIPTION:For more detailed information in the workshops see: www.diearte.at \nCourse for children 6-10 years\nMy story in pictures\nInventing fairy tale characters\, telling stories\,\npainting with acrylic colors on the canvas \nNr.GB01 29.07. 09.00h-12.00h\nNr.GB02 30.07. 14.00h-17.00h\nNr.GB03 31.07. 09.00h-12.00h\nFee per kid € 15\,- \nCourse for children 8-12 years\nMy story in pictures\nNr.GB04 29.07. 14.00h-17.00h\nNr.GB05 30.07. 09.00h-12.00h\nNr.GB06 31.07. 14.00h-17.00h\nFee per kid € 15\,- \nColoring stories in their heads enables children to explore fantasy worlds and makes the seemingly impossible possible. Stories and figures are created and first put on paper using the charcoal pencil technique. The focus is on creating and inventing stories. Mixing and discovering your own colors (acrylic paints) creates exciting works\, which then come to completion on the canvas in their splendor of color. Aim: To stimulate the imagination. Putting pictures and feelings on paper. Practicing painting techniques. Practicing learning words. \nCourse for parents and kids 6-12 years\nStill life (we draw a picture together)\nMake sketches with a charcoal pencil\, sharpen your eyes\, paint with acrylic colors on the canvas\nNr.ST01 02.08. 09.00h-12.00h\nNr.ST02 02.08. 14.00h-17.00h\nFee per kid € 5\,-\nFee per grown-up € 10\,- \nThe still life has a high status in art history. After discussing a few examples from art history and contemporary art\, students create their own still life. Here the eye for the harmonious arrangement of the different shapes and colors is trained. Sketches are then made with a charcoal pencil to get a feel for the detail and selection of the motif. The colors desired for the work are then mixed from the 3 basic colors. A very personal world of colors is created. The painting is then finished on a canvas using all the possibilities of acrylic paint. Aim: To train the eye for shapes and colors\, to look at the objects from all sides and perspectives. Communicate creatively together. \nCourse for adults\nArtistic painting\nCharcoal pencil technique\, acrylic paints on canvas\, exploring creative expression\nNr.EM01 03.08. 10.00h-15.00h\nFee per person € 25\,- \nArtistic painting releases feelings and thoughts. Working with colors and shapes takes us into new or perhaps even forgotten worlds. New experiences are made with different techniques and experiences are reconnected. \nInfo & registration:\nMaximum number per course 10 persons. Material costs are already included in the price. Your child will need a snack\, a rain jacket and sturdy shoes. Please wear clothes that can get dirty. The courses primarily teach artistic methods and leave plenty of scope for imagination and creativity!\nThe courses take place at the VSL Lindabrunn club grounds. \nAddress: Vereinshaus Symposion Lindabrunn\, Steinbruchstraße 25\, 2551 Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn \n

SUMMARY:Futurologisches Symposium
DESCRIPTION:With the Lindabrunn Futurological Symposium\, we are taking up the founding idea of the symposium again. \n29. Juni 17:00 : Presentation\nof the works created and further artistic program\n \nA project as part of the Viertelfestival Niederösterreich – Industrieviertel 2019\nFor 14 days\, 5 artists are invited to Lindabrunn to explore forward-looking concepts and ideas of alternative forms of living such as the art format “transbionica”\, the reception format “didactica”\, the “NomadMuseum” or the “CAL-Container-Art-Laboratories”. These art formats have been developed by umraum artcollectiv over the last 20 years especially for the laboratories of experimental art and architecture at Symposion Lindabrunn. \nBuilding on this\, the invited artists will develop new objects and installations for the symposium site. At the end of the two-week residency\, these works will be presented in a final public symposium and will serve as a guide for the next years of the symposium in Lindabrunn. \nThe Symposion Lindabrunn thus once again lives up to its role as an interface between art in the region and the city\, between past and future and as a communication hub. \nThe artists: \nFranz Ablinger \nJudith Fegerl\nJudith Fegerl’s artistic work focuses on the symbolic connection between man and machine\, body and technology\, space and time. In her works\, she uses electricity as an instrument for minimalist drawings. In Judith Fegerl’s works\, electricity is used strikingly both as a metaphysical source of energy and as a prerequisite for the lifestyle of our modern society in order to make energy visible and tangible. \nKarin Frank\nattended the Vienna Graphic Design School and then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. She attended Michelangelo Pistoletto’s master class. She further developed her artistic work during scholarship stays abroad. In 2002\, she was awarded the Lower Austrian State Prize for Fine Arts. \nChri Strassegger\nThe photo artist\, who grew up in Gasen\, graduated from the master class for painting at the Ortweinschule in Graz and has been working with land art\, installations\, object art and temporary art interventions in addition to photography for many years. \nChristoph Weber\nstudied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig\, including as a master student of Astrid Klein. He also studied Conceptual Art with Renée Green at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Weber has received numerous scholarships\, including Artist in Residence at the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York and Artist in Residence at the Cité des Arts in Paris. Christoph Weber is fascinated by the qualities of “his” material\, concrete\, which he makes use of in his sculptures. \nGünther Friesinger\nBorn in Graz\, Günther Friesinger is an artist\, curator and producer. He teaches cultural management\, production\, social media and exhibition dramaturgy at various universities in Austria\, Germany and Switzerland. In recent years\, he has increasingly focused on future working models\, happiness research and the topic of vacancies. He is a member of the artist group monochrom\, organizer and artistic director of various symposia and art actions\, as well as author and editor of books on contemporary art and philosophy. \nProgram:\nFuturologisches Symposium\n17. – 30. June 2019\n29. June 17:00: of the works created and further artistic program \nA project as part of the Viertelfestival Niederösterreich – Industrieviertel 2019
