SUMMARY:In CUBO : Sheri Avraham
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition at Cubo: Sheri Avraham – 70 Faces of the Torah \nIn the age of social media\, we continuously inscribe ourselves through curated feeds\, stories and highlights. These digital traces become a contemporary sacred scroll\, a living archive through which we seek recognition\, belonging and knowledge. Our online selves\, both self-designed and externally imposed\, function as a modern ritual of interpretation and belief. Within this space of multiplicity\, contradiction and intersectionality\, identity unfolds as performance and negotiation. \nThis work is part of the larger project “Mizrachi Futurism” and is a continuation of research that began during Sheri’s production residency at Symposion Lindabrunn in 2025. \n“Mizrachi Futurism” is a speculative aesthetic rooted in the identity category of Mizrachim: Jews with familial ties to non-Western countries. Inspired by Afrofuturism\, it functions as a cultural-political practice that creates insurgent visions of the future based on Mizrachi histories\, diasporic knowledge\, hybridity and anti-colonial critique in art\, theory and performance. From a Mizrachi and queer perspective\, this project reflects on fragmented identity\, visibility and belonging. \n70 Faces of the Torah presents identity as infinitely interpretable. Referring to the midrashic phrase “The Torah has seventy faces”\, the work suggests that identity\, like sacred texts\, is never unambiguous or fixed\, but fluid\, multi-layered and open to infinite interpretation. \n

SUMMARY:In CUBO : Camille Dedenise
DESCRIPTION:NATURALISM glitch THEATRUM is a site-specific installation conceived for and produced at Lindabrunn. The installation questions naturalism not as nature itself\, but as an epistemological system: a Western fabulation\,\nin Philippe Descola’s terms\, that separated humans from the living world. The theatre is a metaphor of naturalism as a fabulation\, a constructed scene\, in which the apparatus blurs with the landscape. The ecological disaster becomes a broken glitch\, a signal that exists by failing. The work extends through a webpage translating Lindabrunn’s real-time weather data into generative visual forms for the duration of the exhibition. \n

SUMMARY:Relaunch Hörzelle- Midissage Cubo
DESCRIPTION:The time has come; the “Hörzelle” is being refilled!\nAnd the exhibition in the Cubo by Camille Dedenise can still be seen for 2 weeks! \nNew at Hörzelle: \nblablabor (annette schmucki and reto friedmann) \nfm-alarm-clock-radio-g641-t302-j \nEvery radio sounds different: The Grundig Concert Boy 240 impresses with its clear sound\, while the reception of the Stern Dynamic 2030 is harsh and susceptible to interference. Blablabor has built up its own relationship with each of the more than one hundred portable radios it has collected. Like us\, the devices are getting older and frailer – the Philips Limbo DeLuxe 90R1412 is missing the antenna tip and the battery compartment cover. For “FM Alarm Clock Radio G641 T302 J”\, Blablabor used the sounds and characteristics of their radio collection. The play was nominated for the Berlin Radio Play Festival 2025. \nSashe Urdovski: Singing wire\nEarly on\, historical users of the electric telegraph described its lines as “singing wires”: wind\, electrical impulses or resonances created audible tones and rhythms with a musical quality. The telephone booth becomes a listening room for a material\, independently vibrating form of communication. The piece is inspired by Alvin Lucier’s work “Music on a Long Thin Wire”\, in which a signal generates vibrations in a taut wire. The composition was created in the Experimental Soundlab at the University of Art and Design. \nChristina Gruber: Thirsty Datacenter (Lindabrunn Edit)\nOur daily lives are based on interactions. And increasingly online. “Thirsty Datacenter” leads to different production sites and landing points of the cloud. Water is essential in the development process of these global server networks. On the one hand\, water is used to cool the data centers\, but also to transmit our data. What happens when digital water re-enters the water cycle? Are endless streaming evenings also causing real changes to our atmosphere? This audio piece goes in search of the infrastructures of the cloud. \nHollis Taylor\, Claire Edwards: Owen Springs Reserve\nThis piece is based on a nocturnal song recording of the Australian Black-throated Slaughterbird\, recorded in 2014 near Alice Springs. In her work\, composer\, violinist and ornithologist Hollis Taylor explores the musical qualities of birdsongs and their translation into human music. It is played and interpreted here by the well-known Australian percussionist Claire Edwards on the vibraphone. \nMarie Lampropoulus: Zwischen den Gräsern\nMarie Lampropoulus studied Biology on the University Vienna\, Ecology\, with focus on Vegetationecology\, Naturer- and Landscapeprotection She wrote her diploma thesis on the grasshopper population at the Lindabrunn Symposium site and is an excellent expert on this habitat. In this audio piece\, she provides insights into the fascinating world of the polyphonic orchestra of these creatures that can be heard here every day. \n

SUMMARY:Symposion Art & Ecology IV: If the world were your Oyster
DESCRIPTION:“they say the world is your oyster when they mean the world is your pearl to find\, but really: the world is just oysters“ \nYour Oysters – Rasha Abdulhadi Shell Houses (2017\, The Head & The Hand Press) \n\nA multifaceted program awaits us\, featuring local and international artists who focus ob ecofeminist\, decolonial\, and Indigenous practices. Curated by cultural studies scholar Mekhala Dave\, we will learn more about our connection to nature\, the ocean\, and different species through talks and readings\, sound and video installations\, and numerous sculptural exhibition objects. \n  \nOysters are dazzlingly mysterious\, a delicacy for the palate and a microcosm into a world that mirrors our own. As saltwater bivalve molluscs\, they transform pain within their soft bodies into luminous pearls over time. This journey offers a fluid moment to “think-with” the world around us: how might we feel our way through the conditions of our time? Inspired by queer Palestinian poet Rasha Abdulhadi’s Your Oysters\, we invite you to a program that brings together artists in residency joined by scientists\, scholars and thinkers. Set amidst legacies and dialogues of art within the biodiversity of Symposium Lindabrunn\, this gathering activates art through a multispecies perspective. Embracing decolonial and feminist methods\, we immerse ourselves in the natural world and engage with digital tools\, echoing indigenous genealogies to open portals between worlds. Join us at Symposium Lindabrunn for a soft landing of learning\, togetherness and shared reflections. \nCurated by Mekhala Dave\nSupported by Valentina Gruber

SUMMARY:Nature Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Together with the community of Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn\, the landscape conservation association Thermenlinie-Wienerwald-Wiener Becken and the LEADER region Triestingtal\, laypeople\, experts and nature educators\, we are exploring the biodiversity at the symposium in Lindabrunn – one of the largest contiguous dry grassland areas on the Thermenlinie – with the help of the international nature research app iNaturalist. \nThe Nature Challenge is a diverse celebration of biodiversity for young and old nature explorers and those who would like to try it out. There are nature tours\, information stands\, competitions and activities for children and young people. \nFrom an artistic perspective\, the Symposion Lindabrunn association is participating with performative and installation-based contributions. During the successful first Nature Challenge in June 2024\, more than 4\,800 observations of almost 1\,300 species were documented at the site. The Lindabrunn Nature Challenge enters its third round in 2026. \nProgram details at LPV \nFriday: 20:00 to 23:00 – Nature excursion “Animals of the night” – together with experts and nature educators you will discover the creatures of the night such as moths\, bats and owls and learn interesting facts about the valuable natural area at the symposium. As part of the excursion\, we also look over the shoulders of the experts as they investigate nocturnal animals. \nSaturday: 10:00 to 18:00 (for experts from 9:00) \n\nDuring nature excursions with experts and nature educators\, you will learn exciting facts about habitats and species at the symposium. Excursions for adults: 2:00 pm\, 3:00 pm\, 4:00 pm\, excursions for children: 2:30 pm\, 3:30 pm\, duration approx. 1 hour each\, meeting point at the LPV information stand at the arena (located next to the Symposion Lindabrunn clubhouse)\nInformation stands at the arena provide background information on interesting nature and environmental projects\, nature hedges\, the iNaturalist research app\, exciting fossil finds in Lindabrunn and the art of the Symposion Lindabrunn association.\nThe children’s program includes handicrafts and face painting. (at the arena)\nWith the freely accessible and freeresearch app iNaturalist you can easily take an active part in the search for species and collect valuable discovery data. Experts will help you try it out. Previous knowledge is not necessary! Our experts and nature educators will guide you through the journey of discovery and explain how to use the iNaturalist app step by step (from installing it to searching for species). If you have already installed iNaturalist\, you can of course get started more quickly. You can find all information about the app here. We are also happy to help you with the installation. (at the LPV information stand at the arena)\nWith an app from the Symposion Lindabrunn association\, you can discover the works of art directly on the site.\nIn between\, you can fortify yourself with food and drinks on site. (at the arena next to the Symposion Lindabrunn clubhouse)\nRaffle: Children who register species via iNaturalist and register on site by 16:30 (at the LPV information stand near the arena) will be entered into a raffle to win great prizes.(Prize draw at 17:00 exclusively for those present in the arena)\n\nNote for biologists: you can find detailed information on the information page for experts: If you would like to participate as an expert\, please send an email to the Landschaftspflegeverein as soon as possible. \n  \n

SUMMARY:shared_care_artist_camp
DESCRIPTION:The shared_care_artist_camp offers artists with care responsibilities the opportunity to spend time working with their families. Under the aegis of Stefanie Wuschitz\, free space and time for work and family is created during the summer vacation. The on-site infrastructure enables artists to exchange ideas with other artists in a contemporary discursive environment – about professional as well as family-related issues – and to work on their own projects. Symposion Lindabrunn is an ideal environment for family-inclusive stays with its extensive natural area and the possibility to camp and move around outdoors. A shared childcare person will be hired by the Shared Care project team to provide half-day care and children’s programs during the residency. The second half of the day will be organized by the participating artists either in the form of joint activities with the children or as shared care time. The participating artists can offer group workshops for young and old in the afternoons. At the weekend\, the doors to the studios are open and the artists present themselves and their work as part of a salon in the countryside. The selection and invitation is made by the Shared Care project team.
