Visitors are the protagonists of the installation’s eerie space. They become players as they take a first-person point of view while cruising around the floating parts of this entropic\, fragile yet solid\, ultimately unknown body. They become players\, who – called by the sirens of this virtual landscape – are unable to resist the urge to seek action and look for treasures in the seductive\, actually bottomless void of the installation’s reality.\n(Text: Ráhel Anna Molnár) \n\n\n  \nBliss – Performance\nwith Isabelle von Spreckelsen\, Lukas Dworschak\, Ernst Lima 2021 \n\n\n\nDetails\nThe trance-like performative installation BLISS\, promises an extension of physical corporeality by virtual existence and leads to digital enlightenment. References of nature meet light and sound frequencies from digital and analog worlds. They are found alongside the deliberate use of the visitors smartphone screens\, wifi radiation and aroma vaporizers. Connected via smartphones\, audience and guides encounter the sensory quality of BLISS’ hybrid space\, which sets an inner process in motion that is most likely situated between post-human reset and internet-based self-awareness trip. The intense sensory experience may trigger a “reboot of the perception of world and self.“ \n\n\n  \nKeiken\,  George Jasper Stone: Feel My Metaverse \nVideo\nDuration: 40min\, 2019 \n\nDetails\nBuilt within a game engine\, Feel My Metaverse is set in a not too distant future where the climate crisis has rendered the Earth uninhabitable.Corporation Alipay promptly disseminated life units. Inside these life units\, humans live in a Metaverse of virtual worlds; worlds that feel as real as the Earth. To survive in these virtual worlds\, humans must earn points to keep their base bodies alive.Analysing contemporary belief systems\, the work plays on our understanding of reality and the idea that we can create our own future through the stories we collectively believe in. It contemplates how individuals can be required to trust\, suffer and live in realities that they intuitively disagree with. The work critiques the disconnection of monopolising desires of corporate and futurist visions in relation to inequality and the climate crisis. It also explores technology as an emancipatory tool\, deconstructing physical limitations through sensory understanding and elevating unheard voices.Originally commissioned for Jerwood Art’s Collaborate 2019 and supported by Arts Council England. Keiken and George Jasper Stone would like to thank collaborators Sakeema Crook\, Linda Rocco\, Khidja\, Charlotte Oppenheim\, Rob Malone and Ebe Oke. \n\n  \nKumbirai Makumbe – Evos Turn \nVideo Duration: 4’25” 2019 \n\nDetails\n“Evo’s Turn” explores Makumbe’s questioning of our conceptualisation of blackness and its form. The work explores a seemingly uninhabited extra-terrestrial terrain accompanied by a monologue performed by Makumbe’s Voice clone Evo. Within this\, Evo questions its own inherent blackness\, as an avatar created by Makumbe\, in a way synonymous to an artificial intelligence questioning its own sentience\, or better yet\, its ‘human-ness’. \n\n  \nLine Finderup Jensen  – Here Comes the sun \n\nVirtual Reality Experience 2021 \n\nDetails\nHere Comes the sun is a short virtual reality experience built upon a memory from a day at an Austrian wine tavern. The birds are singing\, sunrays are beaming and the wine never tasted better.\nIt’s the first day out after many months of lockdown. Joy and laughter compete with one another to suppress the ghastly past. A sudden event pokes at us to test whether we are still the same or if something has changed. \n\n\n  \nMartina Menegon – untouched (v.n.) \n\nAR Virtual Sculpture 2021 \n\nDetails\n“untouched (v.n.)” is a series of 3D Scan-Selfies by Martina Menegon that started in 2015 under the title Virtual Narcissism (v.n.) and has now evolved into Performative and Interactive Virtual Sculptures with Augmented Reality capability (on compatible mobile). Using 3D Scanning as an artistic medium\, Menegon’s self-scanning procedure\, combined with the use of low-budget technology\, challenges the notion of the virtual as perfect and exposes the results of the scans “as is”\, with all the beautiful flaws\, mistakes and data loss. Untouched\, those failures present a new authentic digital body\, an avatar fixed in time yet always performing. \n\n\n  \n  \nTheo Triantafyllidis – Pastoral \n\nLive Simulation / Videogame 2019 \n\nDetails\nPastoral\, is an expanding landscape\, a field of hay brushed by golden sunlight. You find yourself \, a muscular Ork\, standing in the middle of the field. You feel strangely out of place in this setting\, seemingly musing or enjoying a short break before yet another battle. Explore the landscape to find idyllic moments under the sound of a melodic lute while contemplating the bucolic calmn \n\n  \nMarlene Kager\,  Maris Nisu\,  Maximilian Prag\, (and more…)  – AI-nimals \n\nVideo / WebXR sound by Chris Izsák 2020 \n\nDetails\nMarlene Kager\, Maris Nisu\, Maximilian Prag\, and Pauline Jocher developed the AI-NIMALS for the identity of the 2020 edition of Angewandte Festival. The computer-generated\, morphing animals found a new habitat in both the exhibition area of the Symposium Lindabrunn and in the virtual space of Mozilla Hubs. Visitors are invited to observe the creatures in their new AFK & digital environments and to approach them – because: The AI-NIMALS don’t bite. \n\n  \nBrooklyn J. Pakathi \n\nDetails\nBrooklyn J. Pakathi uses art as a mean to unfold. Their cross-dimensional practice plays with the aesthetic language of the internet whilst in dialogue with questions of navigating the intermediary space of transference between body and virtual anxieties of being – their work speaks to an energy consciousness reconciling the external reflections of our internal vulnerabilities. Exploring advanced\, physical and ancestral memory as sites of struggle\, they dive into logical imaginaries to make sense of the omnipresent matrix of coloniality and the conventions of misalignments that influence the harmonies of our body-mind-spirits. \n\n  \nStefano D’Alessio – Blue Light \n\nDetails\nBlue Light is a 50 minutes\, site specific sound and light performance. Using a mix of music\, storytelling\, light flashes and interactive technologies\, a performer takes the audience into a journey through technological frustrations and internet stress. \nBlue light is defined as visible light ranging from 380 to 500 nanometers.\nComputer screens\, tablets\, smartphones and other digital devices produce significant levels of blue light. These kind of screens are often used at late night: reading an e-book\, browsing before bedtime or aimlessly scrolling social media to „wind-down“.\nToo much blue light late at night can disrupt circadian rhythm\, potentially causing sleepless nights\, daytime fatigue\, and even serious health problems. \nRemember to blink\, your eyes might be dry\, a flash\, an other flash\, blue light isn’t helping your sleep.\nFucked up circadian rhythms\, why didn’t you answer my DM? i wrote you 2 hours ago.\nShould be bed time but i need some „me“ time.\nRevenge procrastination. \n\nErnst Lima – Konzert \n  \n  \n  \n\n
